Physical Therapy

42nd Street's choice for Physical Therapy.  We are New York State licensed and have extensive knowledge and training in anatomy, physiology and the biomechanics of the human body.  Physical Therapy can help you get out of pain and back doing the things you need to do.  Our therapists use hands on approach in conjunction with specific modalities catered to the individuals' complaints. These therapies include:    Physical_Therapy_Billing_Software.jpg

  • Therapeutic Exercise
  • Posture Correction

Home Management Exercises:

Individualized programs to continue proper muscle integrity while not under care. We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Employed over centuries for health maintenance and preventative care, acupuncture has proven to reduce stress, relieve pain, enhance  immunity, and restore the natural flow of the body's own energy. In essence, acupuncture guides the body towards homeostasis, where healing takes place on a deep level in a natural and organic manner. Very fine needles are inserted into specific points along meridian pathways that traverse the body and correspond with the proper functioning of the organs, musculo-skeletal structure, and internal physiological systems. Pain and disease are mirrored through the meridians of the body; when they are properly aligned and restored to their original functioning, the result is a true balance of one's being, resonating in a harmonic symphony of health.

Our licensed acupuncturist, Ailin Kojima, L.Ac, MSTOM is trained to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions according to traditional Oriental medical principles, while utilizing a comprehensive approach fusing classical Chinese acupuncture with Japanese Hara diagnosis and contemporary pathophysiology. The uniqueness of this style has found great success in treating some of the most chronic and complex of disorders. Structural, hormonal, neurological, autoimmune, and psychological issues are treated with detailed care, while pain and discomfort are usually granted immediate relief.

Trigger point acupuncture, cupping, guasha, and moxibustion are further techniques that are used to eliminate pain, release myofascial congestion, and promote the flow of blood, qi, and lymph.

Acupuncture's popularity continues to grow and become more accepted into the mainstream as clinical studies are regularly proving its efficacy and people are experiencing positive results. Some of the most common issues treated with acupuncture include: muscular and myofascial pain, arthritis, allergies, asthma, stress, depression, insomnia, headache, fatigue, gastrointestinal, autoimmune, endocrine, hormonal, and neurological disorders, gynecological complaints, smoking addiction, weight control, and recovery from exertion, illness or injury.

We invite you to seek relief from the stress of modern living and pursue optimal health by visiting us for a consultation and treatment.
